Threads of Tradition – Ladies & Their Lace Making
Cyprus has a long tradition of lace making villages such as Phiti and  Pano Lefkara where the ladies of the village were taught the intricate embroidery for which the village is now famous. Hosted by the Leventis Municipal Museum in Laiki Yitonia in Nicosia, there is a fascinating exhibition until 31 October tracing the history of lace and lace embroidery in Cyprus with displays of lace making cushions and the oldest type of bobbins which were made from bone. There will also be two evening presentations on  presentations reveal the wealth of lace making history that Cyprus has onTuesday 25 October in English, Wednesday 26 October in Greek.
