The first glimpse of the new Cyprus Airways has been revealed.
In July of this year a consortium of private investors along with S7 Airlines of Russia bought the Cyprus Airways trademark and name from the Cypriot government – and is currently applying for an air operators certificate.
S7 Airlines has provided two Airbus A319 aircraft for the new airline(pictured). The aircraft livery and tail feature olive leaves representing Cyprus’s Mediterranean heritage as well as symbolizing peace. The Moufflon which was the well known logo of Cyprus Airways previously is rumored to still appear on the aircraft. (near the door)
The new Cyprus airways is expected to fly from Larnaca to the UK, Greece and Russia amongst other destinations.
